In this 8-week leadership course, 30 high school students (grades 9 – 12) from Berks County, and 30 students from Lehigh County, are granted scholarships through Dale Carnegie Training to build skills that will last them a lifetime. Generation Next is designed to prepare young people for the real world. It gives them the skills they need to reach their goals and live up to their full potential-at school, home, and in the workplace. The five key areas of this program are:

• Building Self-Confidence
• Enhancing Communication Skills
• Interpersonal Skill Development
• Teamwork and Leadership Skills
• Effective Attitude Management

Generation Next Graduates tell us that their new skills have made them:

• Highly focused on goals
• Better decision makers when faced with difficult choices
• More persuasive communicators
• Better prepared for college and interviewing
• Able to confront problems in a more positive way

Applications are made available to high school guidance offices in late Fall of each year and are accepted through late December.  All students are eligible to apply, and applications are accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis.
